GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW COURTS

30th August 2008 was a fantastic day of childrens’ tennis coaching to celebrate the formal opening of our new tennis courts.  Judy Murray kindly took time off from watching her Sons’ progress at the US Open to spend the morning with us and helped many local children develop their tennis skills.  Stewart Reid, our coach organised a great programme of events for all the children and was ably helped by a team of assistants from his regular coaching classes.  Lots of fabulous food was provided by the club catering team.  We could relax in the afternoon, enjoy food and a drink from the bar and watch an entertaining match of doubles between coaches Stewart and Craig on one side and Robin and Jamie Nisbet on the other.  The match was umpired with fairness and a strong hand by Murray Cathro and won fair and square by the Nisbet brothers... Despite frequent complaints during the match by Stewart that line calls and even complete games were wrongly called, slow-motion replays of the event upheld all the umpire’s decisions!
